Florida Film Industry needs you!

The state is currently trying to revamp the incentive package that is critical to productions filming in Florida (large and small). In order for us to be competitive with other states and in the industry, we need this bill to pass and for our Legislature to understand how important it is. A production that comes to town not only involves those filming (actors and crew) but so many others in the local business community that provide support services. This includes everything from bookkeepers to florists to caterers to hotels to car dealers to laundry services…….I think you get the picture. Anyway, we need this bill to pass. So, please read the below article and sign the petition that will go to Governor Crist.

Thanks!

FLORIDA FILM PRODUCTION COALITION PETITIONS TO KEEP FILM INDUSTRY IN FLORIDA

The Florida Film Production Coalition Tuesday released an online petition to support the Film and Entertainment Financial Incentive Legislation for the State of Florida 2009 Legislation.

They stated that the purpose of this online petition is to raise awareness and gain support from the Community for a competitive transferable corporate tax credit incentive for the State of Florida. The Film Industry has been in the State of Florida since the early 1920’s beginning with it roots in Jacksonville.

They feel the Film and Entertainment Industry can contribute to Florida’s Economy through smart incentives attracting immediate investments with an infusion of Film Productions into our State.

Those that wish to sign the petition can do so at http://www.PetitionOnline.com/ffpc09/petition.html.
